Martin Henderson was born on 8th October 1974 in Auckland, New Zealand. He grew an interest in acting at a very early age; as a matter of fact, his role as an actor came when he was merely 13 years old in a local TV show, Strangers.
Henderson went to Birkenhead Primary School and later graduated from Westlake Boys High School. He declined the opportunity to attend University at 17 in order to pursue a career in acting.

Speaking in an interview with Herald in 2016, the actor said he’s looking forward to getting married and welcoming kids into his life. Henderson stated,
I’ve always wanted kids, but I never felt ready. I wasn’t mature enough to have them earlier. It would’ve felt more of a burden, whereas today I’m at an age where spending time with kids or my nephews is wonderful. But I’m not going to rush out and do it for the sake of it.
Martin continued,
I don’t think having a family is the answer to anything, but more a compliment to life. I’d rather find the right woman first, but life’s funny – I might find someone and they can’t have kids. So I don’t want to get hung up on the idea because then if I met someone who couldn’t, I’d feel like I was being denied something.
The actor’s potential future wife, Helen Randag, the resident of California, was previously married. However, it’s not known to public knowledge who her former spouse is.
Randag, meanwhile, owns a film production company called Midheaven Productions. She produced and directed a short film titled Portrait of a Star in 2014 that made its premiere at the New York International Film Festival.
