The streamer’s biggest premiere this month will be the fourth season of its Emmy Award-winning comedy “Only Murders In The Building,” starring Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez. The trio of now-novice sleuths and true-crime podcast fans take on their most confusing case yet as they investigate the murder of Charles’ (Martin) stunt double and longtime friend Zazz (Jane Lynch). Keeping up the laughs, the streamer will also have the Season 5 premiere of the adult animated series “Solar Opposites,” in addition to new additions to its growing comedy collection with new and classic specials from Kumail Nanjiani, Wanda Sykes, Eddie Murphy, Nick Kroll, Lewis Black, Sasheer Zamata, and more.

August will also bring the streaming premiere of 20th Century Studios’ successful “Planet of the Apes” installment “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes,” led by Owen Teague and Freya Allan.

“Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” | Friday, Aug. 2

The recent successful franchise reboot ends its 85-day theatrical window (and $397 million box office run) with the film’s streaming premiere. Set 300 years after the events of 2017’s “War of the Planet of the Apes,” the new entry follows Noa (Owen Teague), a young chimpanzee who embarks on a journey alongside human Mae (Freya Allan) to determine the future for apes and humans alike. William H. Macy, Kevin Durand, Peter Macon, Dichen Lachman, Lydia Peckham, Travis Jeffrey, and Sara Wiseman make up the ensemble.

“Solar Opposites” Season 5 | Tuesday, Aug. 12

While split on whether the Earth is awful or awesome, aliens Korvo, Yumyulack, Terry, and Jesse are dedicated to protecting it. Dan Stevens, Thomas Middleditch, Sean Giambrone, and Mary Mack lead the voice cast with an A-list of guest voice stars throughout its four seasons including Tiffany Haddish, Tony Hale, Andy Daly, Christina Hendricks, Alfred Molina, Kieran Culkin, Sterling K. Brown, and more. The series was just renewed for a sixth season of the Season 5 premiere.

“Only Murders In The Building” Season 4 Premiere | Tuesday, Aug. 27

Unroll the red carpet—- and the police tape. While a Hollywood studio is eyeing the “Only Murders” podcast for a feature-length project, Charles, Oliver, and Mabel take on their biggest case yet: the mysterious murder of Zazz Pataki (played by Jane Lynch), Charles’ stunt double from his “Brazzos” days, and whether Zazz was the intended target. In addition to the core trio of Martin, Short, and Gomez, Meryl Streep, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Michael Cyril Creighton will return in Season 4 with new recruits Desmin Borges, Catherine Cohen, Zack Galifianakis, Jin Ha, Richard Kind, Eugene Levy, Eva Longoria, Melissa McCarthy, Kumail Nanjiani, Lilian Rebelo, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Molly Shannon, and Siena Werber.

Cultural phenomenon “Baywatch” gets the ABC News Studios spotlight. The new docuseries will take a look at the series that defined an era and left a lasting legacy with an unprecedented look into the stars who brought the world’s most famous lifeguards to life, featuring exclusive interviews from the show’s creators and over 35 cast members and over a decade’s worth of never-before-seen home videos shot by the cast themselves.

“I Kissed a Girl” Complete Season 2 | Friday, Aug. 30

Britain’s first dating show for exclusively sapphics and “I Kissed a Boy” spinoff returns for a second season as 10 new single women head to the Italian countryside to match and meet up for the first time with a kiss before they are encouraged to explore their chemistry from there. Serial host/presenter and LGBTQ+ icon Dannii Minogue is back as host.
